The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology is a specialized department within dental schools or dental hospitals that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the supporting and surrounding structures of the teeth, primarily the gums, periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone.
