World Oral Health Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and professionalism on Friday, 20-Mar-2026 at Himachal Dental College and Hospital, Sundernagar, in association with Special Olympics Bharat, Mandi Chapter, with participation from around 20 students each and their staff from Sehyog Residential School for Special Children, Nagchala, and Sakar Special School, Sundernagar. The program included oral health education through pantomime, live demonstrations of brushing, flossing, and mouthwash use, along with diet counselling. Stationery kits, toothbrushes, and toothpaste samples were distributed, and refreshments were provided. Over 30 special children received prompt diagnosis and treatment in the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry. The treatments provided included scaling, extractions, pulpotomies, restorations, and emergency access openings, ensuring a warm, comfortable, and positive dental experience. The visiting representatives from Special Olympics Bharat, Mandi Chapter, were honoured with tokens of appreciation. The management and principal extended their wishes to the special athletes and appreciated their visit. The program also marked the beginning of World Oral Health Month celebrations (20 March–20 April 2026) with engaging activities such as the “Good Food, Bad Food” game and pledge board signing, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to inclusive oral healthcare and community outreach.
