Anti-Ragging Awareness Lecture and Fresher’s Welcome Ceremony at Himachal Dental College, Sundernagar An Anti-Ragging Awareness Lecture was conducted for BDS First and Second Year students of Himachal Dental College, Sundernagar on Tuesday, 09-Dec-2025, with the aim of sensitizing students about ragging, its legal implications, and the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment. The session was delivered by Dr. Aman Sachdeva, DCI Representative from Himachal Pradesh, who clearly explained what constitutes ragging, its psychological and legal consequences, and the responsibility of students in upholding ethical and professional conduct on campus. Following the lecture, BDS First and Second Year students showcased their talents during the Fresher’s Welcome Ceremony, where newly admitted students introduced themselves and presented engaging dance performances, songs, and a skit. The event was graced by Dr. Ashima Singla as the Chief Guest, in the august presence of the Director, Dr. Anil Singla, and the Principal, Dr. Baljeet Singh. The celebrations continued with students enjoying performances by “The Youngster’s Band,” followed by dinner, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for the first-year students as they began their academic journey at HDC. The Award for Mr. and Ms. Fresher was bagged by Mr. Ishant Dhiman and Ms. Sonakshi, while the titles of Mr. and Ms. Personality were awarded to Mr. Sujan Kaushik and Ms. Dhriti Sood, respectively. The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Vice Principal, Dr. Devender Sharma, along with Dr. Rajib Biswas, Dr. Liza Sachdeva, Dr. Tammana Sharma, Dr. Pankaj Dhiman, Dr. Lipikanksha Chandel, and Dr. Akash Agnihotri, marking a memorable and meaningful beginning to the academic journey of the newly admitted students.
